2025 Bridgemill Bluefins Swim Team Internship

Eligibility:

• Resident of Bridgemill
• Be a part of the swim team
• 13 years or older

Purpose: To allow Bridgemill swimmers to grow as leaders while learning how to be a summer league swim coach.

Description

• Will assist with the preparation of lane lines before practice starts (if available)
• Will assist with the “learning to swim” 6 and under swimmers during their 5:15 - 5:45 pm practices, Monday - Thursday and Saturday mornings. If we have a lot of interns, we will assign you particular days.
• Will assist in helping the coaches with the 7-8 and 9-10 age group practices (if available) If we have a lot of interns, we will assign you particular days.
• Will assist with meets to help line up relays and assist coaches (if needed). If we have a lot of interns, we will assign you particular days.
• Attendance is expected at your practices

Benefits

• Hours served could count towards “community service” towards a college application or school program.
• Will be considered for assistant coach if there are any openings during future seasons (minimum requirement of at least 2 years of internship)

Ideal Candidates

• Have a desire to be considered for future assistant coaching opportunities at Bridgemill
• Have a passion for working with children, especially the 5-10-year-old range
• Are patient, well-mannered, and trustworthy
• Display exemplary character
• Understand that they are role models on the pool deck and around the neighborhood
• Will exhibit positive behavior and have respect for the coaches and team reps.

*** If an intern exhibits poor behavior towards the coaches, swimmers, or parents, their internship will be terminated immediately and any chance for future internships/jobs will not be considered.

Application Process

• Candidates will have until April 26th to submit their application
• The Swim Team Board will review all applications, conduct interviews and determine this year’s interns
• Candidates will serve one summer with an option to be invited back each summer
